Extra-Curricular Activities

After school activities enrich young lives. We encourage young people to develop new interests. All classrooms are open at lunchtimes for students to prepare school assignments, develop group projects or school-industry projects. Subject rooms are open, where books are available and staff offer help to students who request it. Computers are available to students in most classrooms at lunchtime and after school. The school library is always open as a resource centre with homework clubs running every night after school and on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday lunchtimes. The following is a list of activities and clubs which are available at present:

Many educational visits are organised to enrich the curriculum. In addition, there are industrial visits, theatre visits and excursions to major sporting fixtures.

Various music lessons take place in the Tavra Hut with peripatetic music teachers over the course of the school year. These take part during lessons. Please see Mr Maltby for further information.

 

The School has a well equipped stage and is noted for its musical and stage productions, amongst which have been Bugsy Malone, Oliver, The Mikado, The Sound of Music, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Rock Nativity, The Insect Play, Grease, Annie, The Jungle Book , The Wizard of Oz and The Dracula Rock Show.
